For more than two decades, I've been working to make the world a little safer, fairer, and more welcoming for LGBTQ+ people and the families we create. I've testified before the Ohio Legislature, worked with other advocates on statewide policy, and helped our community navigate some extraordinarily difficult moments. But activism isn't the reason I became a lawyer. It's the reason I know why this legal work matters. The law doesn't always automatically recognize our closest relationships. That's where planning comes in... Your estate plan should reflect the family you actually have—not the family a legal form assumes you have. My job is to listen to your stories, understand your relationships, identify the places where the law could fail you, and build a plan that protects what you've worked so hard to create. I'm here to educate you on your options and help you make informed decisions. I don't believe in cookie-cutter estate planning. Every client has a different family. Every family has different relationships, assets, concerns, and goals. That's why I personally draft every estate plan. I don't believe your family's future should be generated by an algorithm, assembled from a generic template, or handed off to someone who doesn't understand you, your family, your community, or your values.
